ETSU enters the doubleheader on a four-game skid after getting swept by Samford for the Bucs' third conference series loss of the season.
Senior
Cameron Young's bat has led the Buccaneers throughout the season. The SoCon preseason player of the year is hitting .446, No. 42 in the country. Her .540 on-base percentage ranks 58th, while her 50 hits sit at t-50th nationally, and all three marks are second in the SoCon.
Junior catcher
Leinani Lutu has made an instant impact behind the plate. Her 19 runners caught stealing ranks second in the country and leads the SoCon. Sophomore
Gabrielle Fowler has led ETSU in the circle with a 3.70 ERA and 1.54 WHIP across 47.1 IP.
Gardner-Webb comes into their penultimate home nonconference game at 16-23 (1-8 Big South). The Runnin' Bulldogs are led by Hannah Frye, who has a 3.02 ERA through 92.2 innings and seven wins. At the plate, Ella Christopher is hitting .373 with five homers, ten doubles and 26 RBI, while Araceli Pesqueira has six home runs, ten doubles and 16 RBI.
The Runnin' Bulldogs took one of four from Western Carolina and one of three games from Winthrop among games against common opponents with the Bucs. Gardner-Webb also split a two game slate with Furman.
