COLUMBIA, S.C. (April 16, 2025) – East Tennessee State University women's golf went wire-to-wire in fifth place as a team and closed in fifth at the conclusion of the SoCon Championship on Wednesday.
The Bucs shot 22-over in the final round to hold onto fifth place. Furman stayed in first through the duration of the tournament to win the SoCon Championship, with a nine stroke win over Chattanooga. Mercer and UNCG finished third and fourth, ahead of ETSU. Samford and Western Carolina tied for sixth, 15 strokes behind the Bucs, and Wofford and The Citadel rounded out the field.
Senior
Alex Crafton fell slightly to No. 10 with a six-over day. Sophomore
Brianna Castaldi had her best day of the tournament, carding a 74 to move up to 13th as an individual.
Junior
Katie Hall also shot six-over, and freshman
McKenzie Hauk posted a 7-over on the final day to wrap up ETSU's scoring.
Furman's Audrey Ryu won the individual championship with an even-par tournament, followed by Mercer's Mikayla Dubnik at 3-over and Western Carolina's Elizabeth Lohbauer, at 5-over.
The SoCon Championship marks the conclusion of ETSU's 2024-25 season.
