ABOUT THE BUCS
-ETSU is the third seed in the 2025 SoCon Men's Basketball Championship, their highest seed since winning the regular season title in the 2019-20 season.
-The Bucs are 45-26 in the SoCon tournament all-time, including 24-14 in quarterfinal games. At previous SoCon tournaments held in Asheville, the Bucs have a record of 29-13, including a 15-4 mark in the quarterfinals.
-Buccaneer senior guard Quimari Peterson was named the 2025 SoCon Player of the Year on Wednesday, the first Buc to win the award since Desonta Bradford in 2018. Peterson led the league in total points, points per game, field goals made, three-point percentage, steals, and steals per game, and was the 15th-leading scorer in the country during the regular season. During conference play, Peterson was the only player in the SoCon to average 20 points per game.
-Peterson is the seventh Buccaneer to score 1,000 points in his first two seasons with the program, and the tenth to score at least 600 points in one season.
-Jaden Seymour also received first team All-SoCon honors alongside Peterson on Wednesday. He finished seventh in the league in scoring, sixth in rebounding, and third in blocked shots. Seymour is the only player in the SoCon with a triple-double this season, posting 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists against VMI on January 1.
-Seymour has 1,371 career points at ETSU, the 11th-most in program history, 11 shy of Zakee Wadood in tenth and 17 away from Lester Wilson in ninth. Seymour is one of five Buccaneers with at least 1,000 career points, 700 career rebounds, and 100 career blocked shots, joining Isiah Brown, Greg Dennis, Jerald Fields, and Zakee Wadood.
-Karon Boyd was named SoCon Defensive Player of the Year on Wednesday, the first recipient of the 15 year old award in ETSU's history. Boyd was second in the SoCon in rebounding, fifth in blocked shots, and was one of only four players, along with Seymour, VMI's AJ Clark, and Chattanooga's Frank Champion, to average at least one steal and one blocked shot per game in SoCon play. Boyd was the only player in that group to average 8.0 rebounds per game or more in conference games.
-Boyd needs two offensive rebounds to become the second player at ETSU since 1986 to collect 90 or more offensive rebounds in multiple seasons, joining Dillion Sneed. Boyd had 95 offensive rebounds last year, the seventh-most in a season at ETSU since 1986, when offensive rebounds were first recorded as a standalone statistic. Boyd is second in the SoCon and 61st in the country in offensive rebounds per game (3.00)
-DJ Hughes has peaked at the right time for the Bucs in the post. Thrust into the starting center role over the last five games, Hughes has scored in double figures twice, averaging 6.2 points and 7.6 rebounds in that span and leading ETSU in rebounding in two of the last three games.
-The Bucs have made at least one three-pointer in 1,190 straight games – the third-longest streak in the country. Only UNLV and Duke have longer active streaks.

ABOUT THE TERRIERS
-Wofford tumbled to the sixth seed in the SoCon tournament after dropping two of their final three games in the regular season, ending with a 78-75 loss to Furman, a game in which they never led and trailed by 11 at the half.
-Kyler Filewich is the SoCon's leading rebounder at 9.5 per game with 294 total rebounds this season and the top offensive rebounder in the conference at 3.65 per game. He is 19th in the country in rebounds per game, 17th in total rebounds, and 10th in offensive rebounds per game, while scoring an average of 11.8 points per game.
-Corey Tripp is the Terriers' leading scorer at 14.3 points per game and has scored in double figures in nine consecutive games, including 20 point efforts against Chattanooga on February 5 and at The Citadel on February 12, and a 31 point game against ETSU on February 22 in Spartanburg that included 20 of Wofford's final 23 points.
-Tripp and Filewich are joined in double figures by Dillon Bailey at 11.4 points per game and a team-leading 55 made threes this season.
-Wofford leads the SoCon and is 14th in the country in rebounding margin (+7.8), and 38.87 rebounds per game is 29th nationally and second-most in the SoCon.

-This is the 63rd meeting between ETSU and Wofford in men's basketball. The Bucs lead the series 43-19.
-Wofford won the first meeting this season 81-78. Bailey and Jackson Sivills combined for seven made threes, and Filewich had 16 points and eight rebounds.
-The Bucs won the return game at Wofford 73-68. Quimari Peterson ahd a double-double with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Jaden Seymour scored 16 points, and DJ Hughes scored 12.
