JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 10, 2026) - The ETSU men's basketball team released its complete 2026-27 schedule on Thursday. Head coach Brooks Savage and the Buccaneers will play 19 preseason and regular season games at Freedom Hall in the upcoming campaign, the most since the 2013-14 season.  

"We are looking forward to getting the season started and are pleased with the schedule," said Savage. "19 home games are the most in over a decade, so there are a bunch of opportunities to come watch us. The non-conference schedule will challenge our team and prepare us to defend our regular season SoCon championship. I encourage our fans to get your tickets now and let's take Freedom Hall to another level this season."

The home slate begins October 25 with a exhibition Johnson City Honda Charity Game against the High Point Panthers. The regular season home opener matches the Bucs up with Campbell on November 11 nested in among trips to Arizona State (Nov. 2), NC State (Nov. 6), and the Bucs' first meeting with Marshall since 2013 on November 17 in Huntington.

The Bucs will host five home games in 10 days from November 21 to December 1, beginning with the Longwood Lancers and including a multi-team event hosted at Freedom Hall beginning on Black Friday with ETSU and Charleston Southern, followed by Charleston Southern against Morehead State on Saturday, and ETSU and Morehead State on Sunday. ETSU will play a pair of non-Division I opponents in Kentucky State (Nov. 23) and Virginia Lynchburg (Dec. 1), games added late in the scheduling process in the wake of the dissolution of the SoCon/ASUN scheduling alliance after two seasons.

ETSU rounds out its home nonconference dates with Presbyterian on December 8 and Northern Kentucky on December 15 before the Bucs' first SoCon home game against UNCG on December 19. Furman comes to Freedom Hall on December 22, and the lights will come on in Freedom Hall in 2027 on January 9 with Western Carolina followed four days later by Tennessee Tech. The Bucs host Chattanooga on January 21 and Mercer on January 27 in the midst of a road-heavy backstretch of the SoCon season before playing four of their final six games at home: VMI (Feb. 6), Wofford (Feb. 13), The Citadel (Feb. 24), and Samford (Feb. 27) to set the stage for the SoCon Men's Basketball Championship in Asheville March 5-8, 2027.
