The Buccaneers are playing a revamped slate in Huntsville. After several iterations of the schedule were modified due to weather, the final result has ETSU's games with Ole Miss and Jax State canceled due to weather. The Blue & Gold added a Sunday game against Miami Ohio, though, which made the 2024 NCAA tournament, keeping three tournament teams on the 2025 schedule.
The Bucs are led by senior infielder
Cameron Young, who's hitting .542 with a 1.192 OPS through eight games. The Knoxville, Tenn., native has 13 hits, five RBI and a pair of doubles. Senior infielder
Sara Muir has also hit at a .342 clip for ETSU, with a team-best eight RBI.
North Alabama enters the weekend at 9-0, highlighted by a trio of run-rule wins and pair of wins over Chattanooga. The Lions are led by Briley Dover, who's hitting .516 with three triples, doubles and home runs each, along with ten RBI on the year. In the circle, Emily Simon has a team-low 0.74 ERA and 3-0 record.
Louisiana Tech heads to Huntsville at 5-5, with an upset win over then-No. 4 Oklahoma State as the leading mark on its resume. The Bulldogs are led at the plate by Claire Raley, who is hitting .467 with seven RBI. Allie Floyd has thrown 34 innings, more than all other Louisiana Tech pitchers combined, including all seven in the win over the Cowgirls.
JMU enters at 0-5 after its second tournament was canceled entirely. The Dukes dropped games on the first weekend to then-No. 12 Georgia, NC State, UCF and Cal State Bakersfield. Madalyn Johnson has been the best arm for James Madison, with a 3.07 ERA over 12 innings pitched. At the plate, Abbie Campbell is hitting .444 with three doubles.
Miami Ohio comes in at 3-7 with wins over Arizona State, App State and Winthrop. The RedHawks are led in the circle by Léa Chevrier, who has a 3.76 ERA. Kaylee Oh is hitting .438 with a pair of doubles, and Holly Merritt is hitting .324 with two home runs and nine RBI.
