ETSU women’s track and field completes competition in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (Feb. 15, 2025) – Making its final tune up before the Southern Conference Indoor Championship, the ETSU women's track and field team completed competition at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational on Saturday at the Brant Tolsma Indoor Track at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex.
 
Micailah Cook capped off another solid weekend on the track where she placed ninth in the 200m Open with a time of 25.01. On Friday, Cook finished second in the 400m with a personal best time of 56.73.
 
Staying on the track, Deena Lutdke placed 12th in the mile after clocking in with a personal best time 5:07.32. This marked the second straight day with a personal best for the Buccaneer freshman as she ran 10:04.99 in the 3000m on Friday night.
 
In the field, Tya Blake reached the finals of the triple jump where she placed eighth with a personal best mark of 11.92m. In the high jump, freshman Akera Molette continued her productive rookie season by finishing fifth after clearing 1.61m.

The Bucs now turn their attention to the SoCon Championship, which will be held Feb. 28-March 1 at VMI.
