CULLOWHEE, N.C. (May 12, 2026) - Three Bucs bagged four silver medals on Tuesday at the 2026 SoCon Outdoor Championships to lead ETSU in the final day of team competition for the 2026 outdoor season.
Junior
Brianna Fulford began the day with her third consecutive heptathlon silver medal. She set personal bests with a 29.80m javelin throw and a 10.74m shot put as well as a season best in the 800m run at 2:35.07 and totaled out 4,665 points, just 202 back of gold medalist Olivia Bagg of Wofford.
Sophomore
Micailah Cook medaled twice for the Bucs, finishing second in the 400m sprint with a school record time of 53.47 seconds, breaking her previous school record of 53.76 seconds at the Wake Forest Invitational earlier this year. She rallied in the final stretch of the 200m and nearly won, but missed out on beating Western Carolina's Cymoria Thomas to the line by 0.08 seconds and had to settle for another silver. Cook now has four SoCon outdoor medals in four championship events in her career and five total medals in the sprints between indoor and outdoor competition.
Freshman
Katelynn Lemke built on a breakout performance yesterday when she set the fastest time in the 400m hurdle prelims and led out of the second bend in the finals before being passed by Samford's Aaliyah Mbenda at the final hurdle. Lemke claimed silver with a personal best time of 1:01.16.

Tyla Nicholson in the discus, claiming fourth with a 44.91m top throw. Sophomore Gracie Franklin set a personal best 4:43.82 in the 1500m from sophomore Gracie Franklin to finish seventh, and sophomore
Deena Ludtke scored two points with a seventh-place finish in the 5000m run, finishing the race in 17:42.67. Fulford and sophomoreÂ
Akera Molette each cleared 1.58m to tie for seventh in the high jump, scoring 1.5 points each for the team. The relay team of Cook, Lemke, freshman

Meg Lance posted fourth-place finishes in the 4x100m and 4x400m relays, with the latter coming in at a season best 3:47.16.
In total, ETSU scored 80.5 points to finish fifth out of 10 participating teams. Western Carolina got the better of Samford for the team championship with 182.5 points to the Bulldogs' 175.5. WCU and Samford have combined for the last 12 women's outdoor track and field championships.
