GREENVILLE, S.C. - East Tennessee State volleyball picked up the first loss in conference play thus far in the 2025 slate.
Whitley Rammel reached 300 career blocks in the contest with her fourth block of the night in set four. The Bucs (19-6, 13-1 SoCon) and fell in five sets (27-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25, 22-9-15) to the Paladins (19-7, 10-4 SoCon).
NOTABLES
- Whitley Rammel, the senior middle blocker, led defense at the net with one block solo and five block assists, tacking on 11 kills with two aces offensively.
- Following Rammel's efforts were redshirt sophomore middle blocker Gianna Blair with four block assists and freshman outside hitter Sophie Davis, sophomore outside hitter Makayla Bays and senior outside hitter Brianna Cantrell with three apiece.
- Bays led the offense with 23 kills for her fourth match of the season over 20 and her 11th match of the season with 15 or more. The outside hitter tacked on four aces for the fourth time this season with eight digs and 22 flawless receptions.
- Davis led in attack efficiency, recording nine kills on two errors with 20 attempts for a .350 attack percentage.
- Isabelle Iosua, the senior opposite hitter, reached double-digit kills for the fourth time this season with 10 and added on a season-high five digs.
- Junior libero Melanie Morris led the backrow defense with 16 digs and 34 receptions, tacking on two aces and was followed by sophomore Kari Wilson with 11 digs and 13 flawless receptions.
- Setters Bailey Gohlke (Fr.) and Alex Kreutzmann (Jr.) split the offense with 27 assists, eight digs and two aces for Kreutzmann and 24 assists, two aces and eight digs for Gohlke.
- The Bucs totaled 68 kills, 61 assists, 12 aces, 67 digs and 19 total blocks.
