Volleyball clinches win over UNC Greensboro in White Out match

Whitley Rammel guides the Bucs to a five set win

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - East Tennessee State volleyball completed the regular season sweep of UNC Greensboro on Thursday night in Brooks Gym.  The Bucs (20-6, 14-1 SoCon) downed the Spartans (15-11, 8-7 SoCon) in five sets (20-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-14, 15-5).

NOTABLES
  • The squad saw the highest attendance of the regular season with 875 fans packing Brooks Gym for the White Out! contest.
  • Whitley Rammel, the senior middle blocker, recorded 11 kills on a .429 clip with seven total blocks, four digs and two aces.
  • Sophomore outside hitter Makayla Bays led the offense with her 14th career double-double (15 K, 13 D).
  • Isabelle Iosua, the senior opposite hitter, paced her squad with her eight kills on a .412 clip and six block assists, wrapping the night as one of the top offensive and defensive products for the Bucs.
  • In the back row, junior libero Melanie Morris tied her season-high 24 digs and saw 59 receptions with two aces.
  • Sophomore setter Bailey Gohlke collected her sixth career double-double with 30 assists and 11 digs.
  • Brianna Cantrell, the senior outside hitter, was the lone member of the squad to record a block solo, adding on two block assists and 12 kills.
  • Redshirt sophomore middle blocker Gianna Blair tied her career-high of nine kills in the contest on a .389 hitting percentage with four block assists.
  • The Bucs totaled 65 kills, 59 assists, six aces, 77 digs and 23 total blocks.
