CHARLESTON, S.C. - East Tennessee State volleyball secured the eighth SoCon Regular Season title in program history on Friday night.
Lindsey Devine now owns four of the eight as the leader of the Buccaneers. The Bucs (19-5, 13-0 SoCon) swept the Bulldogs (0-23, 0-13 SoCon) for the squad's 16th consecutive win.
NOTABLES
- Whitley Rammel was a force for the squad en route to the SoCon regular season title, recording eight kills on a .667 clip with four total blocks. The senior middle blocker has now recorded three or more blocks in 20 matches and a hitting percentage of .400 or higher in 14 matches.
- Gianna Blair, the redshirt sophomore middle blocker, led defense at the net with two block solos and three block assists, tacking on seven kills at a .308 clip.
- Sophomore outside hitter Makayla Bays boasted another strong showing with eight kills, 10 digs and three aces in the three-set contest.
- Brianna Cantrell, the senior outside hitter, was the second most effective hitter, tallying seven kills on 17 attempts with no errors for an attack percentage of .412 and tacked on the tied match-high of five blocks, including one block solo.
- Junior libero Melanie Morris led in the backrow with 13 digs, averaging 4.33 digs per set with 14 receptions.
- Belle Iosua, the senior opposite hitter collected eight kills on a .389 clip with two blocks.
- The Bucs totaled 41 kills, 39 assists, five aces, 43 digs and 16 total blocks.
