KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – It was an in-state clash in Knoxville when the East Tennessee State women's basketball team faced the Lady Volunteers of the University of Tennessee. The Bucs (0-2, 0-0 SoCon) dropped the contest 97-47 to the No. 8 Lady Vols (1-1, 0-0 SEC) on Friday night.
 
NOTABLES
  • Freshman Emmah McAmis and Senior Paige Lyons were the leading scorers for the Bucs with 10 points each.
  • McAmis led the team in assists with two in the Wise, Va. native's collegiate debut.
  • SaBreya Monsanto notched seven points in her second college contest.
  • Maya McCorkle also made her first collegiate appearance.
  • The top rebounder for ETSU was Lucia France, who tallied nine boards. It was the first rebounds of the freshman's collegiate career.
  • The Buccaneer bench had a big night to the tune of 29 points.
