LOUISVILLE, Ky. - East Tennessee State women's basketball (3-6, 0-0 SoCon) pushed past the Eastern Illinois Panthers (1-7, 0-0 OVC) 60-54 on Sunday afternoon in the KFC YUM! Center.
Daniela Lopez guided the Bucs to the win with her career-highs in points (22), rebounds (9), field goals made (8) and three-points made (4) with the game-highs in each category. Through the first half alone, Lopez was 4-7 from the field and 2-2 from the line with five rebounds.
NOTABLES
- Lopez, the junior guard, led the squad with her 22 points and nine rebounds with the team-high of two assists.
- Graduate guard Anala Nelson reached double-digit points for the fourth time this season with her 12. Nelson went 4-8 in the field and 4-4 from the line for her third contest of the season with a perfect free throw percentage. She tacked on four rebounds and tied Lopez for the team-high of two assists.
- Downing followed Lopez and Nelson's offensive efforts with six points, two field goals and two free throws, with three rebounds and her 132 career block.
- Freshman guard Emmah McAmis was the second most effective rebounder for the squad with a career-high six.
- The team totaled 60 points, 39 rebounds, seven assists, three steals and two blocks with 12 of 14 Bucs seeing action.
