LOUISVILLE, Ky. - East Tennessee State women's basketball (2-6, 0-0 SoCon) fell to No. 23 Louisville (6-2, 0-0 ACC) in Knights Hall on Saturday afternoon, 50-88.
Meghan Downing, the senior forward, secured the ETSU women's basketball all-time career blocks record with 130, reaching the milestone in the first quarter with a block and a rebound. Downing now owns the all-time career blocks record (130), the single-season blocks record (70, 2024-25) and is second all-time in single-game blocks (5 vs. Coker in 2023).
NOTABLES
- Downing led on defense with the game-high of two blocks and the game-high and her season-high of eight rebounds. She tacked on four points and one assist, going 2-2 from the line to remain flawless at the line this season.
- Guards Carmen Richardson (So.) and Anala Nelson (Gr.) boasted the team-high of 13 points, with Richardson going 5-9 from the field and Nelson going 4-6 at the line, each with one three point made. Nelson tacked on the team-high of two assists, shared with sophomore guard Lucy Hood, and two rebounds and one steal. Â
- Freshman guard Emmah McAmis tallied four rebounds, one assist, one steal and six points going a perfect 4-4 from the line.
- Kennedy Younkin, the sophomore forward, collected a career-high two steals with her two points and one rebound.Â
- The team totaled 50 points, 25 rebounds, six assists, two blocks and six steals with 13 of 14 Bucs seeing action in the contest.
