Nine Bucs Earn All-SoCon Football Honors

Most All-Conference honorees for ETSU since 2021

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Nov. 26, 2025) – The Southern Conference released its annual football award winners and All-SoCon teams on Wednesday morning. Overall, nine ETSU football players earned recognition for their play this fall. Ty Anderson (First Team), Chris Davis Jr. (Second Team), Ashton Flinn (First Team), Jeremiah Harrison (Freshman Team), Devontae Houston (First Team), Mike Jenkins (Second Team), Cole Norred (Freshman Team), William Wells (First Team), Seth Williams (First Team) were the Bucs that landed All-SoCon honors. The nine honorees are the most for the Bucs since 2021 (12).
 
Ty Anderson – Senior – Linebacker
  • Anderson led the Buccaneers with 87 tackles in 2025.
  • He also paced ETSU in tackles for loss (9.0), sacks (5.0), break ups (6), and quarterback hurries (3).
  • His 87 tackles were tied for seventh among SoCon defenders.
  • Anderson's top game as a Buc came against The Citadel where he totaled a career-high 14 tackles (1.5 for loss), one sack and tallied one quarterback hurry.
 
Chris Davis Jr. – Redshirt Senior – Jack
  • Played in all 12 games for the Bucs in 2025.
  • Totaled 40 tackles (7.5 for loss) and 2.5 sacks.
  • Tallied sacks against Murray State, Samford and Western Carolina.
  • His tackles behind the line of scrimmage totaled 26 yards.  
 
Ashton Flinn – Senior – Offensive Line
  • Played and started all 12 games at center for the Bucs this season.
  • Only ETSU offensive lineman to start every game at the same position in 2025.
  • Played 797 snaps this season.
  • Helped lead an offensive line group that led the way for the Bucs to rush for 200 or more yards six times this fall.
 
Jeremiah Harrison – Freshman – Wide Receiver
  • Harrison paced all ETSU receivers with 652 yards in 2025.
  • Finished second on the team with 38 receptions and was tied for the team-lead with five touchdown catches.
  • Averaged 17.2 yards per catch.
  • Notched his first career 100-yard (139 yards) receiving day against Western Carolina on November 15.
 
Devontae Houston – Graduate – Running Back
  • Houston became the seventh ETSU running back to reach 1,000 rushing yards in a season (1,008) joining Quay Holmes, George Searcy, Jacob Saylors, Brandon Walker, Gaven Varner, and Brian Edwards.
  • Finished the season with 13 touchdowns (12 rushing, one receiving), which is the fifth-most ever in a season by a Buccaneer.
  • Tallied five games where he surpassed 100 yards rushing.
  • Also was ETSU's primary kick returner in 2025.
 
Mike Jenkins – Junior – Defensive Back
  • Third on the team with 59 tackles.
  • Tied for the team-lead with two interceptions.
  • Had a career-high nine tackles in the season finale against The Citadel.
  • Tallied interceptions against Elon and Furman. Also broke up two passes against the Paladins.
 
Cole Norred – Freshman – Offensive Line
  • Played all 12 games for the Bucs as a true freshman.
  • Was ETSU's starting right guard the last seven games of the season.
  • Finished with 520 snaps played in 2025.
  • One of two true freshmen (Harrison the other) to start a game for ETSU this fall.
 
William Wells – Senior – Defensive Back
  • Closed out the season with the second-most tackles on the team (65).
  • Totaled a career-high 11 tackles on the road at West Georgia in mid-September.
  • Tied for the ETSU lead with six pass breakups.
  • Notched his first career interception in the win at Samford on November 8.
 
Seth Williams – Redshirt Senior – Offensive Line
  • Split time as ETSU's starting left and right guard.
  • Appeared in all 24 games since transferring to ETSU from Appalachian State ahead of the 2024 season.
  • Played the second-most snaps among ETSU offensive linemen in 2025.
  • One of three players on ETSU's offense to start every game (Ashton Flinn and Ephraim Floyd being the others).
 
Mercer, which earned the SoCon automatic bid into the FCS playoffs, took home a couple of the individual awards including Defensive Player of the Year (Andrew Zock), Freshman of the Year (Braden Atkinson), and Coach of the Year (Mike Jacobs). Taron Dickens of Western Carolina was named the SoCon Offensive Player of the Year, while The Citadel's Mike Bartilucci was the Jacobs Blocking Award winner as the league's top offensive lineman.
