Volleyball closes regular season with best conference record in program history

The Bucs defeat Wofford to finish SoCon play at 15-1 for the best record in program history

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - East Tennessee State volleyball celebrated Senior Night in celebratory fashion with a 3-1 victory over Wofford to seal SoCon regular season action.  The 2025 squad now owns the best conference record in program history.  The Bucs (21-6, 15-1 SoCon) downed the Terriers (14-12, 10-5 SoCon) in four sets (25-19, 25-13, 24-26, 26-24) on Friday night in Brooks Gym.

Seniors Whitley Rammel, Brianna Cantrell and Isabelle Iosua were recognized in a prematch ceremony for their contributions to the East Tennessee State volleyball program.

NOTABLES
  • Isabelle Iosua, the senior opposite hitter, boasted 12 kills on a match-high hitting percentage of .435, tacking on seven digs.
  • Junior libero Melanie Morris collected her first career double-double with a career-high 11 assists and 13 digs with a perfect day in serve-receive at a 1.000 pass rate with 37 receptions.
  • Makayla Bays accumulated the match-high of 21 kills for her fifth match of the season with 20 or more kills.  The sophomore outside hitter also reached her 15th career double-double, and recorded one in back-to-back matches, with her 12 digs.
  • Freshman setter Bailey Gohlke found herself with back-to-back double-doubles, tallying her seventh career with 14 assists and the team-high of 16 digs.
  • Senior middle blocker Whitley Rammel was the lone Buc to collect a block solo, adding on two block assists with her eight kills and four digs.
  • Brianna Cantrell, the senior outside hitter, collected 12 kills through three sets, six of which came in the first frame, along with four digs and three total blocks.
  • The Bucs totaled 59 kills, 56 assists, eight aces, 73 digs and 11 total blocks.
