BLACKSBURG, Va. (Sept. 18, 2026) - The ETSU women's cross country team posted a runner-up finish at the 2026 Hokie Invitational on Friday evening in Blacksburg, Virginia.
The Bucs were led in the 6k race by
Deena Ludtke with a 21:47.6 to put her across the line seventh.
Mackenzie Armstrong finished 10th with a 21:57.6, blasting past her 6k personal best two weeks after smashing her 5k personal best. Her race time on Friday beat her previous 6k best by over two minutes, a 24:34.0 at the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invite on October 3, 2025.
In total, eight Bucs scored finishes in the top 20 of the 63 runners who completed the race.
McKenzie Fitzgerald came home 13th with a 22:58.0 followed shortly after by freshman
Paige Remillard with a 23:05.3 in 15th.
Hannah Robinson crossed the line 16th with a 23:12.3.
Ava Berkheimer and
Eliza Everett crossed the line two-tenths of a second apart, with Berkheimer ahead of Everett in 18th with a 23:15.3.
Aubrey Jones followed a second after Everett in 20th with a 23:16.6.
ETSU returns to race action October 3 with a 5k event at the Louisville XC Classic.
