CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - East Tennessee State volleyball continued its SoCon dominance on Thursday evening, downing number two in the conference, Chattanooga. The Bucs (16-5, 10-0 SoCon) upended the Mocs (13-9, 7-3 SoCon) in four sets (25-27, 25-16, 25-23, 25-18).
NOTABLES
- Senior outside hitter Brianna Cantrell registered her 17th career double-double, collecting the match-high of 17 kills with 14 digs, tacking on 21 receptions and two total blocks.
- Alex Kreutzmann, the junior setter, notched her third career double-double, and her second of the season, with 20 assists and 10 digs, dishing two aces against the Mocs.
- Whitley Rammel boasted another dominate outing, securing eight kills on a .412 clip with seven block assists, two block solos and a career-high four aces with four digs. The senior middle blocker has now recorded nine or more total blocks in three matches this season.
- Junior libero Melanie Morris continued her backrow efforts with 22 digs at 5.5 per set with 42 receptions, seven assists and two aces in the four-set match.
- Isabelle Iosua, the senior opposite hitter, tallied six total blocks for the second consecutive match, adding on five kills.
- Sophomore outside hitter Makayla Bays was the fourth Buc to registered two or more aces against the Mocs, tallying two with her 14 kills, two total blocks and 11 flawless receptions.
- Gianna Blair, the redshirt sophomore middle blocker, boasted another strong outing with five kills on a .444 clip and four total blocks, reaching four or more total blocks for the 11th time this season.
- The Bucs totaled 53 kills, 50 assists, 11 aces, 70 digs and 25 total blocks in the contest.
