ETSU opens four-game road swing at High Point on Wednesday night

HIGH POINT, N.C. (Sept. 10, 2024) – The ETSU men's soccer team opens a four-game road swing as the Buccaneers head back to North Carolina to take on High Point Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at Vert Stadium.

ABOUT THE BUCS
  • Through the first five games of the season, ETSU is 1-2-2
  • The Bucs are coming off a 2-2 draw to UNC Wilmington on Saturday
  • ETSU led 2-0 through the first 45 minutes thanks to goals from Henrique Cruz and Gabriel Ramos; however, the Seahawks netted a pair of goals in the second half to force the draw
  • Cruz and Ramos lead the Blue & Gold with five points each on the season
  • Cruz has netted a team-best two goals and has one assist, while Ramos has three assists to go with his one goal

  • High Point enters Wednesday's non-conference game with an overall record of 0-2-2
  • The Panthers' two setbacks have come against NC State (3-2) and No. 7 Marshall (2-0), while they tied No. 14 VCU (1-1) and Davidson (1-1)
  • High Point went 10-4-5 a year ago, including a 6-0-1 mark in Big South play
  • The Panthers swept both the Big South regular season and tournament titles last season
  • High Point was tabbed the preseason favorite in the Big South this season, while Jefferson Amaya was named Preseason Midfielder of the Year
