ABOUT THE BUCS
- ETSU has split its first two games to start the 2024 season
- The Bucs opened the campaign with a 3-1 victory over Longwood last Thursday and then suffered a 2-0 setback at USC Upstate on Sunday
- In the Longwood game, newcomer Abdi Bahur set a new program record with three assists
- Ingvar Kolbjornsen, Zayd Idlibi and Henrique Cruz all scored goals in the win over the Lancers
- On Sunday, the Bucs surrendered goals in both halves as USC Upstate secured its first-ever win over the Blue & Gold
- The Bucs are led by first-year head coach Allen Vital … Vital comes to Johnson City with 27 years of head coaching experience as he spent 14 years at Carson-Newman and spent the last 13 seasons at his alma mater, Tusculum
- ETSU won the Southern Conference regular season title a year ago after finishing the 2023 campaign with an overall record of 9-5-3 and league mark of 4-0-1
- The Bucs return nine players who logged minutes on the pitch last season, including preseason all-SoCon selection Gabriel Ramos
- Ramos, a preseason all-SoCon selection, started all 17 matches last season where he tallied six goals, five assists and 17 points … Ramos led the team in goals and points and was tied for the team lead in assists
ABOUT PRESBYTERIAN
- Presbyterian opened the season with a 9-0 win over Erskine on Saturday
- Eight different players registered goals for the Blue Hose, while Herman Furumo secured a brace
- Loan Marin and Beatty Murray split time in goal with Marin recording two saves
- Seniors Damorney Hutchinson and Carson Griffith earned preseason All-Big South honors … Hutchinson, the reigning Big South Newcomer of the Year, was named Preseason Offensive Player of the Year
- Presbyterian was picked fourth in the Big South Preseason Poll
- The Blue Hose, who went 5-8-3 last season, return 12 letterwinners from last season, while they brought in 20 newcomers
SERIES HISTORY
- ETSU is 4-1 all-time against Presbyterian
- The Bucs earned a 2-1 win over the Blue Hose last season in Clinton, S.C.
- This marks Presbyterian's first trip to Johnson City since Sept. 17, 2019, when ETSU won 3-0
