JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 6, 2024) – The No. 60 ETSU women's tennis team battled but fell to No. 46 Charlotte on Saturday afternoon. With Saturday's loss, the Buccaneers move to 12-7 on the season.
 
The Bucs started well on Saturday as it won the doubles point against the 49ers. Jana Rovira and Ralitsa Alexandrova won their match 6-4 before Fernanda Carvajal and Daniela Rivera knocked off No. 68 Lucia Quiterio and Area Teixido Garcia by another 6-4 final score.
 
Charlotte answered ETSU's win in doubles by winning the first singles contest of the day (No. 1). Rivera then won her match, 6-3 and 7-5, to give the Bucs the lead back. The 49ers, however, won the next two matchups to make the score 3-2. Carvajal kept the match alive for the Bucs with a thrilling victory (6-4, 4-6, 6-4) but Charlotte ultimately won the match, 4-3.
