JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 1, 2024) – Coming off its first Southern Conference road series of the season, the ETSU softball team returns home for a five-game homestand starting Tuesday afternoon when the Bucs host Gardner-Webb in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. at Betty Basler Field.

ABOUT THE BUCS
- ETSU dropped three at Chattanooga over the weekend and sits 5-22 on the season
- Brylee Mesusan leads the team with 31 hits and is 11-of-13 in stolen bases
- Mesusan has multi-hit games in four of her last seven contests and six of the last 12
- Riley Nayadley is right behind Mesusan with a .355 average … Nayadley has posted at least one hit in eight of her last nine games
- Since Sara Muir has been out of the Buccaneer lineup, ETSU has been held to 14 runs in those 11 contests … The Bucs have dropped 10 of those 11 games since March 11
- Muir was hitting .396 (19-48) with two doubles, one triple, four home runs and 14 RBI in 16 games … The Buccaneer hurler also accounted for three wins in the circle for the Blue & Gold
- Taylor Suchy leads the Blue & Gold in appearances (17), starts (10), innings (55.1) and strikeouts (33)
ABOUT GARDNER-WEBB
- The Runnin' Bulldogs are 24-14 and coming off a 6-1 win over Charleston Southern on Saturday
- Annicka McLaughlin is hitting a team-best .344 (33-96), while Adrienne Visintine leads the club in home runs (7), RBI (30) and is tied with McLaughlin for the lead with 33 hits
- The Runnin' Bulldogs are outscoring their opponents, 182-124
- Andrea Lyon leads the team in the circle as she's 9-6 with a 1.76 ERA (25 ER/99.1 IP) with 88 strikeouts … Kalyn Kyle leads the team in wins (10)
- Gardner-Webb is 7-6 away from home
SERIES HISTORY
- ETSU leads the all-time series, 16-14
- This will mark the third and fourth times the two teams are playing this season with Gardner-Webb taking two from the Bucs in the season-opening tournament in Boiling Springs
