JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 4, 2024) – The ETSU baseball team continues its lengthy home stand on Tuesday when it welcomes Binghamton to Johnson City. Tuesday's game, which is sponsored by Family Eye Care Center, is scheduled for a 3 p.m. first pitch from Thomas Stadium.

Last Time Out – The Bucs improved to 9-2 on the season and 9-1 at home with Sunday's 6-3 victory over Wagner. The last time ETSU had started a season this well through 11 games was in 2020 when it also started 9-2. It is also the first time ETSU has swept three consecutive series since the start of the 2019 season.
Fantastic First Innings – ETSU has been a dominant team early in games this spring. The Bucs are outscoring their opponents, 29-0, in the first inning through the first 11 games of the season. Furthermore, ETSU has scored first in 10 of its 11 games.
Hot Hitters for the Bucs – Two staples of ETSU's offense this season have been
Nick Iannantone and
Cameron Sisneros as they are the only two players to start all 11 games and hit in the same spot in the lineup in every game. Iannantone, who has been ETSU's leadoff hitter in 2024, has reached base in 24 consecutive games dating back to last year. Sisneros, meanwhile, brings a 10-game hitting streak into play on Tuesday and he leads the Bucs in batting average (.405), hits (15), doubles (5), home runs (4), RBI (18), total bases (32), slugging percentage (.865) and on-base percentage (.566).
Swing and Miss Stuff – The Buccaneer pitching staff continues to keep opposing offenses off balance. Opponents are hitting just .202 off the Bucs this spring and they have struck out 113 times in 95 innings. Five different Bucs have already struck out 10 or more batters this spring.
Jace Hyde leads the team with 21 strikeouts. Furthermore, Tuesday's starter
Carter Fink is one of six ETSU pitchers to hold opposing batters to an average under .200 (.194).
About Binghamton – The Bearcats enter Tuesday's game in Johnson City with a 3-6 record on the 2024 campaign. Binghamton picked up a 3-2 win over Valparaiso on Sunday and it also took two out of three from fellow SoCon opponent UNC Greensboro to close out February. Binghamton also played No. 1 Wake Forest tough losing by scores of 7-5 and 9-8. A player to watch for the Bearcats on Tuesday is Mike Gunning. Gunning is currently tied for 12
th in the nation in home runs with five.
Series History vs. Binghamton – ETSU is 3-3 all-time against Binghamton. Tuesday will mark the first matchup between the Bucs and Bearcats since 2003.
