JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 29, 2024) – The ETSU baseball team will continue its home stand with a three-game series against Wagner this weekend at Thomas Stadium. The series will begin at 3 p.m. on Friday before games on Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.

Last Time Out – The Bucs dropped a 9-6 game to Appalachian State on Tuesday afternoon. With Tuesday's loss, ETSU moved to 6-2 on the season.
Winning Series Streak – Dating back to last season, the Bucs have won their last four series and six of their last seven with the lone series loss coming at nationally-ranked Oklahoma State. If the Bucs take at least two of the three games against Wagner, it'll be the first time ETSU has won five straight series since the start of the 2021 season. Furthermore, if the Bucs sweep the Seahawks, it'll be the first time that ETSU has swept three straight series since 2019.
Score First – ETSU has scored first in seven of its eight games this season and it is 6-1 in those games. Dating back to 2023, the Bucs are 24-9 when they score first.
League Leaders in the SoCon – Entering the third week of the season, the Bucs lead the SoCon in multiple statistical categories. ETSU paces all SoCon squads in doubles (21), hits allowed per game (7.15), slugging percentage (.556), strikeout to walk ratio (2.78), strikeouts per nine innings (11.8) and WHIP (1.26).
About Wagner – Wagner is 0-7 this season but have faced a tough schedule with series against nationally-ranked North Carolina and Texas A&M and a midweek game against Seton Hall. In 2023, the Seahawks went 32-24 overall and 21-9 in NEC play.
Series History vs. Wagner – ETSU is 9-1 all-time against Wagner with the first matchup occurring in 1998. All 10 games between the Seahawks and Bucs have been played in Johnson City. ETSU took two out of three from Wagner in their last trip to Thomas Stadium in 2022.
