Baseball announces 2025 schedule

Home Games versus Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech highlight 2025 slate

2025 FULL SCHEDULE

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Dec. 17, 2024) – Fresh off its best season in a decade, the ETSU baseball team released its 2025 schedule on Tuesday. The Bucs' schedule consists of 54 games including 33 set to be played at Thomas Stadium.

"This year's schedule gives our team a fantastic opportunity to compete against some very good baseball teams," said ETSU Head Coach Joe Pennucci. "I feel like our pre-conference schedule will make us better prior to Southern Conference play!"

BOUNTIFUL NUMBER OF HOME GAMES FOR THE BUCS TO START 2025
The Buccaneer baseball team will open the 2025 campaign with a three-game series versus Northern Kentucky on February 14-16. It will be the 15th straight season that the Bucs have started a season at home. Furthermore, the Bucs will play the first six weekends at Thomas Stadium.

POWER CONFERENCE MATCHUPS
Seven of ETSU's 54 games will be against power conference teams. The Bucs' first road game will be on February 18 at Virginia Tech. ETSU will welcome another ACC team, Pittsburgh, to Johnson City for a three-game series from March 7-9. It'll be the first time an ACC team has played at Thomas Stadium since 2021 when Virginia Tech visited Johnson City. Speaking of the Hokies, they'll come to play on ETSU's home field on April 15. ETSU will also have road games at SEC foes Georgia (March 11) and defending national champion Tennessee (March 18).

MIDWEEK REGIONAL GAMES
The Bucs will play multiple home-and-home series with nearby Division I programs in 2025. ETSU will have two-game sets against Appalachian State (Feb. 25, April 22), Radford (April 2, 8), and UNC Asheville (April 29, May 7). On top of the games already mentioned, the Bucs will also host Old Dominion for a single game on March 26.

ROUNDING OUT THE NON-CONFERENCE GAMES
ETSU will also play non-conference series at home against Miami (OH) (Feb. 21-23) and Longwood (March 14-16). The Bucs will also play two games against both Binghamton and Siena from February 28-March 2. The Blue and Gold will play a pair of non-conference series on the road at USC Upstate (March 28-30) and Toledo (April 25-27).

SOUTHERN CONFERENCE SLATE
The 21-game SoCon slate for the Bucs will begin with three straight home series against Samford (March 21-23), UNC Greensboro (April 4-6) and Western Carolina (April 11-13). ETSU will then travel to Mercer (April 17-19) and VMI (May 2-4) before returning to Johnson City for their final home games of the season against defending tournament champion Wofford (May 9-11). The Bucs will close the regular season the following weekend with a trip to The Citadel (May 15-17).

SOCON TOURNAMENT AT FLUOR FIELD
For the eighth consecutive season, the Southern Conference Baseball Championship will be played at Fluor Field in Greenville, S.C. The 2025 tournament will take place on May 21-25 with the winner earning the SoCon's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. The stadium is home to the Greenville Drive — the High-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox — and is designed as a mini-replica of Boston's Fenway Park.
