JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 5, 2024) – After a four-game road swing, the ETSU men's soccer team finally returns home to Summers-Taylor Stadium as the Buccaneers open Southern Conference play against VMI on Sunday. Game time is set for 2 p.m.

• ETSU enters SoCon play at 1-5-3 on the season
• The Bucs are searching for their first win since capturing a 3-1 victory in the season opener over Longwood on Aug. 22
• ETSU is 1-0-2 at home this season

• ETSU won the Southern Conference regular season title a year ago after finishing the 2023 campaign with an overall record of 9-5-3 and league mark of 4-0-1
• The Bucs return nine players who logged minutes on the pitch last season, including preseason all-SoCon selection Gabriel Ramos
• Ramos, a preseason all-SoCon selection, started all 17 matches last season where he tallied six goals, five assists and 17 points … Ramos led the team in goals and points and was tied for the team lead in assists

• Through 10 games, VMI is 4-4-2
• VMI has registered at least one point in its last four games – the first time since 2007
• The Keydets are 4-0-0 at home and 0-4-2 on the road
• The 4-0 start at home marks VMI's best start at home in program history
• VMI is led by Grant Martin as he has netted three goals and recorded two assists, while Anthony Huang has totaled two goals and three assists in nine games
• In goal, Zack Murphy has started nine games and has registered 44 saves, while allowing 17 goals
• As a team, VMI has scored 13 goals in its 10 games
