ABOUT THE BUCS
- The Buccaneers won its fourth game in a row on Thursday as it knocked off UNC Asheville, 60-51. With Thursday's victory, ETSU boosts its record to 8-3.
- Leading the charge for ETSU on Thursday was Nevaeh Brown. Brown scored a career-high 23 points in the victory. Her 23 points are the most by an ETSU player this season and the most since Journee McDaniel scored 26 points against Georgia Southern in the season finale last March.
- Thursday's win had a little extra significance as it was Coach Mock's 150th as a collegiate head coach. 117 of those wins came at UNC Asheville. In her time at ETSU, Coach Mock is 33-13 (.717 winning percentage).
- ETSU is now 8-3 for the second straight season. The last time that ETSU has had a record of 8-3 or better in back-to-back seasons was in the 1980-81 (10-1) and 1981-82 (8-3) campaigns.
- ETSU's dominance during the month December continues as it improved to 11-1 in the last two Decembers. The lone loss that Bucs have had in the last two Decembers was against Bowling Green last season.
- The Buccaneers enter Sunday's game pacing the SoCon in fewest fouls per game (13.6), scoring defense (53.3), and fewest turnovers per game (13.0). On a national level, those marks rank 25th, 20th and 30th, respectively.
- If the Bucs knock off Campbell on Sunday, it'll be their fifth straight win. ETSU had a five-game winning streak last season as well to close out December. It would mark the first time that the Bucs have had five-game winning streaks in back-to-back seasons since 2016-17 and 2017-18.
- With 13 points on Thursday, Breanne Beatty is closing in on her 1,000th career point. Beatty needs to score just 32 more points to reach the milestone.
- ETSU is 13-1 all-time against Campbell. These two programs, which used to be in the Atlantic Sun together, have not met since 2016. The Bucs have never lost to Campbell in Johnson City (previously 7-0).
ABOUT CAMPBELL
- Campbell makes the trip to Johnson City with a 7-2 record on the 2023-24 season. The Camels' two defeats came against UCF (42-41) and Virginia (74-49).
- The Camels are a program that prides itself on defense. Campbell is the lone team in Division I women's basketball to be ranked in the top 25 in scoring defense for seven straight years. UConn is the next closest program in that category accomplishing the feat in six of the last seven seasons.
- Campbell has been dominant this season as it is outscoring opponents by an average of 20.3 points per game.
- Campbell enters Sunday's game among the top 10 teams in the country in three key defensive categories. The Camels are seventh in opponent field goal percentage (32.4) and second in opponent 3-point field goal percentage (20.4). Additionally, the Camels are eighth nationally in scoring defense limiting opposing teams to 50.7 points per game.
- Campbell assistant coach Lakeisha Gregory is the daughter of the late Karen Kemp, legendary head coach for ETSU (1994-2013).
