While playing basketball for three seasons, from 1958 to 1960, before entering military service, Jim Brown averaged 15 points and 12 rebounds per game during the 1959-1960 season. After his service in the military, Brown returned to finish school and play baseball. He served as assistant professor in ETSU’s Technology Department and director of vocational education. Brown joined and was inducted into the ETSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002.
