Nadiria Evans

Evans comes to ETSU as an assistant coach after spending two seasons at Memphis as an assistant coach and director of basketball operations.

In her first season with the Bucs, alongside the SoCon Coach of the Year Brenda Mock Brown, Evans helped lead the Bucs to an 18-13 (10-4 SoCon) in 2025-26 for a fourth consecutive season with 17+ wins for the program.  The Bucs clinched a share of the 2025-26 Southern Conference Regular Season Championship for the first time since 1994-95.  Notably, ETSU went undefeated on the road in SoCon play (7-0) for the first time in program history and recorded two five-game win streaks to wrap the regular season with wins in 11 of the last 13 outings.  The five-game win streaks are the longest for the program in conference play since the 2017-18 season.  ETSU's 10-4 record in conference action was the best under Mock Brown's leadership and the best for the program since the 2017-18 season.  The double overtime victory at Chattanooga marked the first win for ETSU over the Mocs since the 2021-22 season and was the first multiple overtime victory for the program since 2011 versus Belmont (2OT, W, 90-86).  Evans assisted with the development of four All-Conference selections, the SoCon Defensive Player of the Year and three All-Tournament Second Team honorees throughout the season.

Prior to Memphis, she spent a season as the Director of Basketball Operations at Gardner-Webb University with Alex Simmons. While with the Runnin’ Bulldogs, Evans oversaw team travel, meals, game scheduling, coordinating gear and many other aspects within the program.

Prior to her stint at GWU, the Gainesville, Fla., native spent time at Jumpstart Performance Training, and as camp counselor at the Brenda Mock Kirkpatrick (now Mock Brown) and UNC Asheville Men’s Basketball camps.

Evans was a decorated collegiate athlete where she was a two-sport athlete in basketball and track & field at UNC Asheville. Evans was named as a Big South First Team member while playing for current ETSU assistant Honey Brown, and is the all-time leading scorer for the Bulldogs women’s basketball program. She was named to the 2022 Big South All-Tournament Team as well as the All-Big South Second Team.

Along with her records in basketball, Evans also holds the second-longest leap (5.50m) and third-longest jump (11.35m) in school history while competing at the Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Evans is a 2022 graduate of UNC Asheville where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications with a minor in Business.
