Anala Nelson joins the East Tennessee State University Women’s Basketball staff as a graduate assistant after spending the 2025-26 season as a part of Brenda Mock Brown’s squad. 

Nelson was a part of the 2025-26 Southern Conference Regular Season Co-Championship team as well as an All-SoCon Second Team selection. 

The Columbia, South Carolina native saw action in 31 contests for the Buccaneers, averaging 28.9 minutes per game. Nelson was the team leader in made field goals (100), field goal attempts (303), made free throws (131), free throw attempts (170), free throw percentage (.771), assists (79), and points (343). She also ranks fifth all-time in ETSU single-game records for free throws made with 13 and was tied for 42nd in the NCAA for single-game free throws made with her 13 and top 50 in total free throws with 131.

Before her time as a player at ETSU, Nelson spent three seasons at Austin Peay, where she was the first Governor to earn Atlantic Sun Conference All-Freshman Team honors in program history, and the first Gov to be named to a conference all-freshman team since 2003. Nelson started in 85 of 93 games played for the Govs, averaging 30.4 minutes per game. 

Nelson was a five-year starter at Lower Richlands High School, where she was ranked the No. 4 player in South Carolina for the class of 2022 by SC Prep Girls Hoops.

Nelson is a 2025 graduate of Austin Peay and is working towards a degree at ETSU in Athletic Administration.
