In the 2026 campaign, Wagner assisted Milligan as they guided the Bucs to the first 20+ win season for the program since 2019 and just the 14th 20+ win season in program history. ETSU collected three SoCon series wins over Furman, Wofford and Mercer for the most conference series wins since the 2016 and 2017 seasons. The three series led to the most conference wins since 2017 and the 11th season with eight or more league victories. The 2026 season started with a bang as the Bucs went 9-1 through the first 10 outings for the best start in program history, including a four-game win streak to open the season and three run-rules within the first six games. During the season, ETSU recorded two of the best three games in the history of the program with the 17-0 shutout of Tennessee State (second-largest shutout in program history) and the 21-2 win over Furman (second-largest margin of victory in program history). Wagner anx Milligan coached Abigail Taylor to All-SoCon Second Team honors and Hailey Porter and Riley Croley to SoCon All-Freshman Team selections alongside the three SoCon Pitcher/Player of the Week selections throughout the season.
