2025 Season (Freshman) - Melendez made an immediate impact for ETSU in 2025...The freshman from Puerto Rico hit .304 with six home runs and 37 RBI...He led the team with eight sacrifice bunts and went 6-for-6 in stolen base attempts...He scored 31 runs, totaled 13 doubles and added a pair of triples...He went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a home run in his debut with the Bucs on February 14 vs. Northern Kentucky...Collected a season-high four hits at Virginia Tech on February 18...Led the Bucs with a .348 batting average in SoCon play...Posted 15 mutli-hit games on the season...Following the regular season, Melendez was named the SoCon Freshman of the Year and landed a spot on the league's All-Freshman team...Was particularly productive in the SoCon Tournament hitting .385 with six RBI to help ETSU win its first SoCon Tournament Championship...For his efforts, Melendez was named to the All-Tournament Team...Melendez continued to play well for ETSU in the NCAA Tournament collecting a pair of hits against Wright State and he landed a spot on the Nashville All-Regional squad along with fellow Buc Tristan Curless. 

Prior to ETSU - Last year, Melendez hit .415 with 11 extra base hits to go with 23 RBI with two home runs and 18 stolen bases...His brother Alexander played in the Houston Astros organization for four seasons (2013-16).
