JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 5, 2026) - An action-packed second half left the ETSU men's soccer team on the wrong side of a 4-3 scoreline against Longwood on Saturday at Summers-Taylor Stadium.
After
Jaime Carrillo pulled the Buccaneers (1-3-0) level at 1-1 in the 40th minute,
Matias Delellis scored his first collegiate goal 70 seconds before half time to put the Bucs in front at the break. The Lancers (5-0-0) found their late-game magic once again, however, when Levon Saribekyan scored twice in less than six minutes of game time to put them in front.
Elliot Edwards scored for the first time in college soccer the 76th to tie the game at 3-3, but Longwood was awarded a penalty in the 85th minute, and Saribekyan converted it to complete the eighth hat trick in Division I soccer for the season to date.
The Bucs and Lancers both mustered 14 shots, with Longwood winning shots on goal 8-5. Edwards had a goal and an assist, and
Gavin Dick picked up his first collegiate point with an assist on Carrillo's goal.
The Bucs return to action on the road Tuesday night at Virginia Tech at 6 p.m.
