JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 23, 2026) – Garrett Hawkins was named the SoCon Cross Country Men's Athlete of the Week on Wednesday, announced by the SoCon office in Spartanburg.

Hawkins was the top-finishing Buccaneer for the second race of 2026 with a fourth-place finish in a personal best 24:42.9 at the Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Virginia, on Friday evening. This is the first weekly honor for the sophomore from Knoxville.

The Bucs return to competition next Saturday, October 3, at the Louisville Cross Country Classic.
