JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 18, 2026) – The ETSU football team will close out its non-conference schedule on Saturday when it welcomes West Georgia to Johnson City. Kickoff between the Buccaneers and Wolves is set for Noon from Bank of Tennessee Field at William B. Greene Jr. Stadium.

LAST TIME OUT – ETSU dropped its game on Saturday on the road at North Carolina by a score of 35-3. With that loss, the Bucs are 1-2 on the season heading into Week Four.
BUC QB'S CONTINUE TO HIT THEIR MARK - Even against North Carolina's defense, the Bucs completed most of their passes last Saturday.
Mason Mims completed 23 of 31 passes for 178 yards. Collectively, ETSU passers have completed 74 percent of their passes this season (71-for-96). Only Alcorn State (75.5%) and North Dakota (74.4%) have completed a higher percentage of their passes than ETSU in 2026.
SENIOR STANDOUT ON ETSU'S DEFENSE - Senior linebacker
Dre Delinois continues to be one of the top tacklers in the SoCon. With 10 more stops against the Tar Heels, Delinois is up to 32 tackles this season. This total not only leads all SoCon defenders, but it is also tied for the sixth-highest total in the FCS. Delinois is the first ETSU defender to have double digit tackles in three consecutive games since Ray Coney accomplished the feat in 2024.
ETSU's KICK RETURN COVERAGE AMONG THE BEST IN THE FCS - With three weeks of the FCS season in the books, the Bucs now rank fourth nationally in kick return defense yielding just 11.6 yards per return. Only Northern Arizona, Hampton, and Bucknell have allowed fewer yards per return than the Bucs this season.
SCOUTING THE WOLVES - West Georgia dropped its game last week to Arkansas State by a score of 52-7. With that loss, UWG's record stands at 0-3 this season. UWG has played one of the toughest schedules in the FCS to date, however, with matchups against Chattanooga along with FBS clashes against Kennesaw State and Arkansas State.
SERIES REWIND AGAINST UWG – Saturday will be the second-ever meeting between the Bucs and Wolves. West Georgia rallied in the fourth quarter to upend ETSU by a score of 35-31 last season in Carrollton.
