ASHEVILLE, N.C. (Aug. 22, 2026) - The ETSU women's soccer team is back on the road to start a three-game swing with a visit to the UNC Asheville Bulldogs. Kickoff is set for 2:00pm at the Greenwood Soccer Field in Asheville.

The Bucs generated a bundle of chances but nearly had it go for naught until Alex Beck's 88th minute header off a left-footed Reagan Fitzgerald cross put them over West Georgia, 1-0, on Thursday evening. ETSU was able to keep their legs fresh, with just two players going the full 90 minutes in sophomore center back McKlain Jones and redshirt junior goalkeeper Addison Yelton. Yelton collected her ninth career shutout with two saves on Thursday and extended ETSU's home unbeaten streak to 11 games. 

The Bulldogs are unbeaten three games into the 2026 season and have demonstrated high-powered offense. They're 18th in the nation in per-game scoring offense (3.67) and 12th in total goals with 11. After opening the season with a 2-2 draw against Wofford and a 3-3 draw with North Alabama, Asheville pumped Southern Wesleyan for six goals in a blowout win on Wednesday. Junior midfielder Manuela Schreier is the reigning Big South Offensive Player of the Week after scoring in each of the team's first two games, and Lili Adams is 18th in the nation with three goals, including a brace on Wednesday. Sophomore Lilly Graumann leads the nation with four assists in three games, including three against Southern Wesleyan. 

This is the 19th meeting between ETSU and Asheville in women's soccer. Both teams have won nine of the prior 18 meetings, but ETSU has won five of the last six dating back to 2010. They won 1-0 in Johnson City last year after Fitzgerald scored on a rebound off her own shot in the 60th minute to lift ETSU to a 1-0 win.
