Men’s Tennis Collects Academic Honors from the ITA

SoCon Regular Season Champions collect academic awards

TEMPE, Ariz. (July 13, 2026) – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its annual academic awards on Monday and the ETSU men's tennis team received multiple honors. First, ETSU was one of 162 programs in Division I to garner All-Academic honors, while Kai Cowcher, Peter Kalocsai, Oscar Martinez, and James Sim were named Scholar-Athletes.

To be named an All-Academic Team by the ITA, a program must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.0 scale). It is the fourth straight year that the Bucs have earned this honor. As for the honor of being named a Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year.

In 2026, 1,008 Division I Men's student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, and 162 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
