SPARTANBURG, S.C. (April 20, 2026) – The Southern Conference (SoCon) announced Monday that ETSU's
Tristan Curless was named the League's Player of the Week. It is the second weekly award that the Curless has earned this season with the other coming on March 23. Curless is the first ETSU player to earn the SoCon Player of the Week multiple times in the same season since Trey York in 2015.
For the week, Curless hit .688 (11-for-16) with two home runs, seven runs scored, three doubles, and eight RBI. The Amarillo, Texas native finished with an OPS of 1.987 in the four games. His top performance came at Georgia on Tuesday where he slugged a pair of three-run home runs and finished the game 3-for-5. Curless had at least two hits in every game last week and posted his first four-hit game of the season in Sunday's series finale win over The Citadel. Furthermore, Curless was the winning pitcher in Saturday's 5-4 win over The Citadel.
Curless and the rest of the Bucs will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to take on Appalachian State. First pitch between the Bucs and Mountaineers is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
