On the track, ETSU is led by
Micailah Cook in the 100m invitational with eight participants, and
Meg Lance in the 800m invitational as one of the field's top 12 runners. Cook, one of the top eight sprinters in the field, currently holds the fastest time in the SoCon in the 100m (11.80 seconds), 200m (24.29), and 400m (55.11) sprints. Lance is eighth in the SoCon in the 800m with a time of 2:16.46. Lance and
Deena Ludtke lead contingent of seven runners in women's 1500m, while
Jason Bowers and
Hayden Waleski will lead ETSU's nine-man contingent in the men's 1500m. Ludtke is also set to lead the Bucs' seven runner squad in the women's 5000m on Thursday night, while the men's 5000m entry list sports eight Buccaneers.
In the field events,
Tyla Nicholson and
Maddie Winchester both enter the hammer throw this weekend, while Nicholson also enters the discus and Winchester enters the shot put. Nicholson is fourth in the hammer throw with a 46.44m best mark at the Charlotte 49er Classic two weeks ago, while Wincheter's 42.89m toss at the King University Invitational last weekend moved her to eighth.
Kasey Brown enters the men's hammer throw this week while
Grant Winegar competes in the javelin.
This weekend also marks the return of sophomore
Akera Molette from injury. A standout performer as a freshman who finished just off the podium in the high jump at last year's SoCon Outdoor Championships, Molette is scheduled for a team-leading four events: the high jump, the triple jump, the 100m hurdles open, and the 200m sprint open events.
