Women’s Tennis extends winning streak to seven with a 4-3 win over No. 69 Liberty

ETSU continues its hot streak with a win over ranked team

LYNCHBURG, Va. (March 6, 2026) – The ETSU women's tennis team picked up an impressive 4-3 win on the road at No. 69 Liberty on Friday afternoon. The victory, which is ETSU's seventh in a row, boosts the Buccaneers' record to 8-2 on the 2026 campaign.

Like it has done in all but one match during its winning streak, ETSU claimed the point in doubles on Friday. Wins by scores of 6-1 and 6-4 secured that opening point to the Bucs.

It looked like the Bucs would continue to roll in singles as Mariangel Estrella and Alessandra Caceres, who also teamed up to win in doubles, quickly won their respective singles contests by scores of 6-2, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-2. Trailing 3-0, the Lady Flames did not go away quietly winning three straight matches to knot the score at three a piece. ETSU prevailed, however, thanks to Audelie Lesauvage's 7-6 (7-2), 6-3 win in No. 4 singles to clinch the win for the Blue and Gold.
