Women’s Tennis downs Memphis, 4-2, for eighth consecutive win

ETSU improves to 9-2 on the season with Saturday’s win over the Tigers

LYNCHBURG, Va. (March 7, 2026) – The ETSU women's tennis team fell behind early but rebounded to knock off Memphis on Saturday by a score of 4-2 in a neutral site match in Lynchburg, Virginia. The victory is ETSU's eighth in a row and boosts its overall record to 9-2 this spring.
 
Memphis snagged the doubles point against the Bucs on Saturday to jump out to an early 1-0 lead. The two teams traded 6-2 wins, but the Tigers came away with a close 7-6 (7-4) victory in the third doubles tilt to earn that opening point.
 
As the match progressed to singles, the Bucs got things back on track winning four of the five matches that were completed. Julia Millan tied things up with her eighth win of the spring. Mariangel Estrella and Audelie Lesauvage were dominant in their respective matches winning by scores of 6-1, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-1, respectively. Niyati Kukreti then clinched the win for the Blue and Gold with a 6-4, 6-2 victory from the fifth flight.

The Bucs will aim to keep things rolling next Friday when they return home to host Wofford in a SoCon matchup. First serve between the Bucs and Terriers is set for 2 p.m.
