JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 22, 2026) – The ETSU women's tennis team dropped a tightly-contested matchup to Appalachian State on Sunday afternoon by a score of 4-3. Sunday's loss moves ETSU's overall record to 10-5.
The Buccaneers began doubles action on a high note with
Alessandra Caceres and
Mariangel Estrella teaming up for a 6-1 win. However, the Mountaineers battled back to take the other tilts to secure the doubles point.
App State's Savannah Dada-Mascoll, who entered the match as the No. 9 singles player in the ITA National Rankings, made it 2-0 Mountaineers with her 6-0, 6-1 win.
Julia Millan,
Audelie Lesauvage, and Estrella all won their respective singles matches to push both teams to match point. Naledi Manyube of App State outlasted Caceres in a three-set tilt on the No. 2 court, 2-6, 7-5, 7-5 to clinch App State's first win over the Bucs since 2019.
