SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Feb. 10, 2026) – ETSU men's tennis player Oscar Martinez was named the Southern Conference (SoCon) Player of the Week by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. It is already the third time this season that Martinez has earned this accolade in 2026 and the fourth time that a Buccaneer has been recognized with this honor.  
 
Martinez won his singles and doubles match last week against Presbyterian. The junior from Venezuela helped ETSU secure the doubles point (6-2) and then got ETSU's first point in singles with a 6-0, 6-2 win. The victories help Martinez keep his singles and doubles records unblemished (5-0).   
 
Martinez and the rest of the Buccaneers will return to action on February 17 when they visit UAB in non-conference action. That match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. eastern time.
