JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 3, 2026) – ETSU football used a dominant defensive performance to defeat Chattanooga, 14-3, on Saturday afternoon at William B. Greene Jr. Stadium.

ETSU improved to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in Southern Conference play with the victory.

The Buccaneer defense held Chattanooga to just three points and 183 yards of total offense.

After Chattanooga connected on a 47-yard field goal with 9:16 remaining in the first quarter, ETSU held the Mocs scoreless for the final 54:16 of the game.

Chattanooga was held to 10 first downs and averaged just 3.5 yards per play.

The Mocs finished with only 75 passing yards, completing 9-of-21 attempts.

Chattanooga never reached the red zone in the game.

Jarvis Johnson led the ETSU defense with a game-high 13 tackles, including two tackles for loss.

The Bucs finished with four tackles for loss, one sack, four pass breakups and three quarterback hurries.

ETSU forced the game's only fumble lost, with Jimmy Bowdry recording the recovery.

Offensively, ETSU finished with 345 total yards, including 159 yards on the ground and 186 through the air.

Jason Albritton led the Buccaneer rushing attack with 95 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries.

Albritton's one-yard touchdown run capped a 10-play, 75-yard drive and gave ETSU a 7-3 lead with 5:54 remaining in the first quarter.

TJ Peyton finished with 92 yards from scrimmage, rushing for 57 yards and adding 35 receiving yards.

Peyton hauled in a 20-yard touchdown pass from Mason Mims with 13:12 remaining in the fourth quarter to extend the ETSU lead to 14-3.

Peyton's touchdown capped a 12-play, 90-yard drive that took 5:29 off the clock.

Mason Mims completed 15-of-25 passes for 186 yards and a touchdown.

Brandon Winton led ETSU with 57 receiving yards on three catches, including a game-long 39-yard reception.

Tyler Griffin added four receptions for 56 yards.

ETSU controlled the ball for 32:10 and converted both of its scoring opportunities into touchdowns.

Luke Stewart averaged 46.5 yards on six punts, including a 74-yard punt, with three punts landing inside the 20-yard line.
