Box Score MACON, Ga. - East Tennessee State volleyball opened Southern Conference action on Thursday night at Mercer. The Bucs (7-5, 1-0 SoCon) trampled the Bears (4-10, 0-1 SoCon) with a sweep (26-24, 25-17, 32-30).
NOTABLES
- Makayla Bays led the Bucs on offense and backrow defense with her ninth career double-double and her third of the season. The sophomore outside hitter accumulated 17 kills and 12 digs with one ace and one block in the match.
- Whitley Rammel, the senior middle blocker, led defense at the net with one block solo and two block assists to pair with her five kills and six digs.
- Senior outside hitter Brianna Cantrell followed Bay's offensive efforts with nine kills while senior opposite hitter Isabelle Iosua led in overall attack efficiency with eight kills on a .389 clip.
- Melanie Morris recorded her fourth consecutive match with double digit digs and her seventh of the season, collecting 11. The junior libero saw 12 receptions with one ace and three assists.
- Alex Kreutzmann was the primary offensive engine, boasting the match-high of 25 assists. The redshirt sophomore setter also tallied four digs and one kill.
- Bailey Gohlke was the third member of the squad to dish an ace against the SoCon foe, tacking on four digs and 16 assists in the outing.
- The Bucs totaled 49 kills, 46 assists, 47 digs, two block solos, six block assists and three aces in the sweep.
