Women's golf reveals 2025-26 campaign

The Bucs will see action in eight regular season tournaments

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - East Tennessee State University women's golf head coach Stefanie Shelton announced the Buccaneers' 2025-26 tournament schedule on Tuesday afternoon, featuring eight regular season appearances.

The women open the fall slate at the Golfweek Fall Classic in Pawley's Island, S.C. at the Caledonia Golf Club over September 7-9.  The Bucs have opened their season at the Golfweek Fall Classic in three of the last four seasons, finishing in the top-10 of both previous appearances.

Action continues out west at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic in Wolcott, Colo. at the Red Sky Golf Club from September 22-24.  In the 2022 season, the squad finished fourth overall out of 20 teams, marking the program's highest finish at the tournament since participation began.

In their third outing of the season, the women head down to Knoxville, Tenn. for the Mercedez Benz Intercollegiate over October 5-7, hosted by in-state competitor Tennessee.  The Bucs will make their fourth appearance at the Merecedez Benz Intercollegiate, looking to break the 2021 program-best finish of 10th in the tournament.

The Terrier Intercollegiate, hosted by Wofford, will be held at the Country Club of Spartanburg over October 13-14.  The event debut by the ETSU program will also conclude the fall slate of competition.

After a brief winter break, women's golf opens spring action at the UNCG Avdances Golf Partners Collegiate over February 9-11, hosted by UNCG, at the Hammock Creek Golf Club in Palm City, Fla.  In the 2024 installment of the tournament, the program finished third overall out of 18 teams, led by McKenzie Hauk who finished 10th overall individually to tie with teammate Brianna Castaldi.

The spring slate continues at the Lake Oconee Invitational, hosted by Mercer, over February 21-23 at the Great Waters Golf Club in Lake Oconee, Ga.  The Bucs look to make their eighth consecutive appearance at the tournament, with the strongest showing in 2022 after the team collected the tournament title while Sophie Bert captured the individual title.

To continue in the regular season efforts, the Bucs head to Spartanburg, S.C. for the Low Country Intercollegiate over March 21-23 hosted by Wofford at the Moss Creek Golf Club.  Another tournament with tenure for the Bucs, with the most successful outing being the recent spring of 2024.  The squad captured the tournament title and Brianna Castaldi finished second overall, just one shot from the individual title, while Sophie Bert finished sixth overall and Alex Crafton captured 11th.

The final appearance for the program in the regular season is at the Brickyard Intercollegiate, hosted by Mercer at the Brickyard Golf Club over March 30-31.  The squad has not competed at the Brickyard Collegiate since the 2018-19 season, but in that season, the team finished third out of 13 teams for their strongest showing since ETSU participation began in 2016-17.

Postseason action opens in the Southern Conference Tournament over April 19-21 at the Solina Golf Club in West Columbia, S.C. and continues on to the NCAA Regional over May 11-13 before concluding at the NCAA Championship in Carlsbad, Calif. at the Omni La Costa Resort Course over May 22-27.
