Bucs earn a share of SoCon Regular Season Title with a 7-0 win over The Citadel

ETSU will be the No. 1 seed in next week’s SoCon Tournament

GREENVILLE, S.C. (April 12, 2025) – The ETSU men's tennis team wrapped up the regular season with a 7-0 shutout win over The Citadel on Saturday afternoon. The victory boosts ETSU's overall record to 12-6 overall and 6-1 in SoCon play. Furthermore, at the conclusion of play around the conference on Saturday the Bucs not only clinched a share of the SoCon Regular Season Championship but they also earned the No. 1 seed for next week's SoCon Men's Tennis Tournament.
 
Saturday's contest, which was originally set to be played in Johnson City, was moved to Greenville, South Carolina. Despite playing at a neutral site, the Bucs were rolling against the Bulldogs. ETSU won the doubles point by winning those three contests by scores of 6-3, 6-0 and 6-1. The Bucs kept clicking in singles winning all six matches in two sets. It is the seventh time in the last eight seasons that the Bucs have shut out the Bulldogs.

As mentioned earlier, the Bucs will be the No. 1 seed in next week's SoCon Men's Tennis Tournament. The Tournament, which will be played at the Champions Club in Chattanooga, is set to get underway on Thursday. ETSU, which has won every SoCon Tournament held since rejoining the league in 2015, will get their tournament run started with a rematch against The Citadel, which drew the No. 8 seed. First serve between the Bucs and Bulldogs is set for 8:30 a.m. on Thursday.
