RALEIGH, N.C. (Mar. 30, 2025) - The primary lesson taken from ETSU's trip to Raleigh is to let Micailah Cook, well, cook.
The freshman sprinter posted strong times in large and competitive fields at the 2025 Raleigh Relays over the weekend at NC State to lead ETSU's track and field team.
Cook's weekend began with the 400m on Friday, where she won her section and posted the 29th best time out of 113 starters at 55.77 seconds. She followed that up on Saturday in the 200m with another section win and a personal-best time of 24.17 seconds, good for 21st in a field of 126 and improving on her SoCon-leading mark in the outdoor season by 0.05 seconds.
Elsewhere on the track, Jason Bowers finished 61st in a 5k field of more than 230 starters from across the eastern half of the country with a 13:58.99 race time and also posted a 1:53.97 in the men's 800m on Saturday. Meg Lance set a personal best in the women's 800 with a 2:14.59 on Saturday.
In the field events, Brent Bell continued his strong form in the shot put with a 15.53m best mark on Thursday, good for 17th out of 53 starters. Logan Wagner finished 38th in the shot put with a 14.02m throw and set a season best in the discus with a 44.17m throw, good for 33rd out of 58 starters in that event.
Both men's and women's teams will be represented at the Tennessee Track & Field Invite beginning Friday, April 4th, in Knoxville.
