MACON, Ga. (March 27, 2025) – The ETSU men's tennis team dropped a close 4-3 decision on the road at Mercer on Thursday afternoon. Thursday's loss to the Bears moves ETSU's record to 8-6 overall and 2-1 in SoCon action.
Mercer began Thursday's match by winning all three doubles tilts by scores of 6-3, 6-0 and 6-1. The Bears tallied the first win in singles as well but three straight wins by the Bucs from
Carlos Gonzales,
Pedro Cressoni and
Francisco Lamas put the Bucs in front, 3-2. Suddenly trailing, Mercer responded to take the matches in the No. 1 and 2 flights to notch its first win over the Bucs since 2023.
