Crafton leads Bucs on Day 1

ETSU in fifth as a team at Low Country Intercollegiate

Hilton Head Island, S.C. (March 21, 2025) – East Tennessee State University women's golf posted a first round team score of 29-over to end Day 1 of the Low Country Intercollegiate in fifth place.

Senior Alex Crafton is tied for second on the individual leaderboard after a four birdie, 1-over round. The Lake Mary, Fla. native shot 3-over on the front nine but finished strong, closing on the back nine at 2-under, including a birdie on the par-4 16th hole that set her up for the 1-over score heading into the clubhouse.

Samford's Grace Engel is in the individual lead after shooting even par in the first round. Gardner-Webb's Neza Siftar is tied with Crafton at 1-over to round out the top three.

Sophomore Brianna Castaldi and freshman McKenzie Hauk ended the first day at 8-over and 9-over, respectively, good for t-No. 26 and t-No. 33 on the leaderboard. Redshirt sophomore Sydney Harz concluded the scoring Bucs with an 11-over round.

As a team, Gardner-Webb and Wofford are tied for first at 21-over, with High Point sitting a stroke behind at 22-over. ETSU is eight strokes back of the lead at 29-over heading to Day 2.
