Bucs rally to defeat Lipscomb, 4-3

ETSU wins its second match in a row in comeback fashion

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 8, 2025) – The ETSU women's tennis team battled back from an early deficit to notch a 4-3 win on the road at Lipscomb on Saturday afternoon. With Saturday's victory, the Buccaneers improve to 2-3 on the season.
 
Like in Wednesday's match at Appalachian State, the Bucs fell behind early. Lipscomb won two of the three doubles matches to secure the day's first point. Daniela Rivera and Alessandra Caceres did tally their second straight win in doubles, 6-2.
 
As play began in singles, the Bisons kept their momentum winning two of the first three matches bringing them one point away from clinching the win. The Bucs, who rallied at App State on Wednesday, strung together three straight wins to battle back and secure their second victory in as many matches, 4-3. Freshman Ksenija Rage continues to play well in her first spring season as a Buc winning her match 7-6 (8-6), 6-4 to get the comeback started. Julia Millan then won her contest in No. 4 singles, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2, before senior Ralitsa Alexandrova finished off the match, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (8-6).

ETSU will return to action next weekend with a pair of matches in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The Bucs will face Alabama on Friday at 3 p.m. and then will clash with Minnesota on Saturday at 11 a.m.
